This Is Laddi is a vibrant biographical stage production in the spirit of Elly and Nine Lives. On stage, audiences will see Laddi encounter some of his most beloved characters — including Eiríkur Fjalar, Elsa Lund, Dengsi, and Skrám — brought to life alongside the Reykjavík City Theatre’s top comedians. The performance also features a live band under the direction of Jón Ólafsson.
But who exactly is Laddi? And where does the humor come from that has shaped the laughter of a whole nation for nearly fifty years? This Is Laddi invites audiences into the mind of Iceland’s comedy legend — tracing the origins of his iconic characters, exploring the evolution of Icelandic humor, and revealing the man behind the laughter. Above all, the show celebrates joy, laughter, and the gratitude of a nation for decades of unforgettable entertainment.
This unmissable production pays tribute to a truly irreplaceable man — a national treasure whose work has long since become part of Iceland’s cultural heritage.
